Biden is hosting an unusual solo news conference to demonstrate his readiness for this campaign.

President Biden faces yet another critical public test of his campaign viability as he prepares to field questions from reporters on Thursday. Concerns among Democrats, previously confined to private discussions, are increasingly surfacing publicly this week.

These developments unfold as Biden concludes a NATO summit in Washington, D.C., originally intended to underscore his leadership on the global stage. However, the event has been overshadowed by growing uncertainties about his readiness for a demanding campaign and another term in office. Elected Democrats, donors, and voters alike are voicing doubts about his capabilities.

Questions have persisted since Biden's significant stumble during the June 27 debate with former President Donald Trump. Biden faced challenges in responding to questions during that debate and has attributed his performance to a cold, lingering jet lag, excessive preparation, and interruptions from Trump. While he has characterized it as an isolated bad night, skepticism remains within his own party.

Since then, Biden and his team have been striving to demonstrate his stamina and mental sharpness for the campaign trail. They've expanded his campaign schedule to include stops in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan later this week. Biden also conducted a full television interview aired on ABC News, with another scheduled for Monday on NBC. Additionally, he made a call-in appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe earlier this week.
