The government has the authority to adjust the quota ratio, according to the High Court.
The High Court has stated that the government can choose to fill vacant seats from the general merit list if quota positions remain unfilled in any public examination. Today, the High Court disclosed the operative part of its judgment on a writ petition concerning quotas.
"In this judgment, Justices KM Kamrul Kader and Khizir Hayat stated that it would not restrict the respondents from altering, decreasing, or augmenting the ratio or percentage of quotas associated with the aforementioned criteria as deemed necessary."
